Research
In our laboratory, we strive daily for drug discovery research and biomarker discovery for unmet medical needs.
Therefore, we are paying attention to lipid oxidation. Recently, it has been reported that these lipid peroxides and their metabolites act as causative molecules of various diseases and inflammations. For example, peroxide is involved in new cell death ferrocytosis, and the complex of lipid-derived aldehydes and proteins is involved in the development of angiogenesis and age-related macular degeneration.
Therefore, we first worked on the development of detection technology for these lipid oxides and screening technology for their target molecules. Recently, based on these technologies, we are conducting research into the efficacy of seed candidate compounds for disease model animals, elucidation of disease mechanism, and search for biomarkers.
We are looking forward to those who are interested in such new research fields and those who have a strong spirit of challenge.
